Immersing themselves in their individual but still complementary practices, the Australian artists offer participants an intensive training in which they will combine their previous experiences.
Rosalind offers a focus on breath, body weight, bones, bodily surfaces, and practical tools to significantly expand range of motion. Her practice equips dancers with the skills necessary to understand the individual stories written in their bodies and how to continually renegotiate them in dance. Her method is to pay attention to how dance is created and how to create it in real time using the materiality of one’s own body as both a starting point and dance building block.
Andrew practices solo improvisation and develops it by refining such tools as breath, body, voice, imagination and communication. While working with Andrew, each participant develops an individual performance style, and the skills honed support the performer in making decisions during the act of performance itself. These tools, skills and coached processes primarily engage attention and are further driven by a desire to communicate.
Coaching participants should expect, above all, enjoyment.
