The exhibition “Waterfalls” at the Old Brewery, in Malt House +1, was based on a very ambiguous phenomenon, which is a waterfall – its violence inspires fear, but the aesthetic aspect of the form, the beauty of the rushing cascades – attracts. The main idea of the exhibition was an attempt to show the fine line between destruction and stability – the waterfall symbolizes both permanence and changeability – qualities that extremely often intermingle or cancel each other out these days. As a very ambiguous symbol, the waterfall is the end of a certain stage, it is a fall (literally – of water), but a fall that brings solace, a calm current.

The artists participating in the “Waterfalls” project followed very individual creative paths, working with different media and techniques. In addition, they were representatives of different generations. However, they had one thing in common: the need to search for what is ephemeral, ambiguous, hidden.
