The pop culture reference to fast food is not a reflection on how we eat. It is a metaphor for the speed with which we consume images and the pleasure with which we enter into what the mass media suggest to us.

The performance will assume the structure of a TV show with all its consequences. The characters impersonated by the dancers will move in this world to the rhythm of well-known disco hits, and jumping on the channels will make it possible to review fictional TV news. The apparent presence of the camera and the frequent change of content will give the individual scenes a surreal character. Movement is reduced to a kind of “choreography on the road” with a disco rhythm constantly accompanying it. This convention is not just a collection of quotations from mass culture. “Disco concept” includes a desire to build a special atmosphere of “being in disco” and an attempt to identify the “disco body”, its nonchalance and excitement.

The disco hits used in a show carry a little further into the world of imagination, often leaving only a musical trace. So there will be no single story, but instead – a lot of extravagance, eccentricity and excitement. It is the energy contained in the disco that will dictate the choreography. Even with minimal movement, it is ultimately important to stay in the trance-like state of disco…
