After ten years Dada von Bzdülöw Theatre gives back to Gombrowicz what Gombrowicz is.
Looking from a distance at our previous creations, it is striking how many of them had stage events corresponding to his artistic and philosophical message: a man creates a man, maturity must be complemented by immaturity, narrow fights with wide…
We constantly revolve around the same themes:
– to see oneself – it means to see oneself in someone else’s eyes
– To create one’s image means to leave one’s mark on others.
Reading Gombrowicz once again, what emerges from this reading is a specific emotional dance of a man stripped of poetry. But Gombrowicz loves paradoxes, so with him the real turns into poetry, and poetry just as unexpectedly turns into abstraction.
It should be noted, however, that Kilka Błyskotliwych Spostrzeżeń / A Few Witty Observations (à la Gombrowicz) is a somewhat suspicious, forced, somewhat hysterical performance. It is created out of aversion to the writer’s greatness, because this greatness overwhelms. But at the same time the performance is an expression of love for his methodical
madness in getting out of nothingness.
