PARK_IN’ CINEMA is a multi- artistic event whose starting point is the aesthetics of cinema and an “underground parking”.
After having entered the parking, guests were inundated in activities of invited artists, for whom referring to film poetics was the material to work on. Viewers found themselves in extraordinary situations which resembled both a film set and, due to referring to particular aesthetics, specific scenes from popular films and quotes from rich cinema iconosphere. The area of artistic interaction included several spheres which were combined by common motifs. There were film screenings, direct and indirect cinema references, car galleries, live music and video art in the happening space-time of Stary Browar.
All the audiovisual elements, directed and put together in one compilation, were to remind one about the most important experience of cinema psychology: experiencing one’s individual emotions and memories in a group of seemingly random people. Participatory character of such an experience as well as peculiarity of presenting contemporary art in a highly outside – gallery context gave one the opportunity to combine various cultural practices: from the ones belonging to the so-called high culture through the ones emerging from a subcultural negation of certain standards to quotations from popular culture.
