Monika Kiwak - Workshop for dance educators - 1/2
29.10.2017
Studio Słodownia +3

I have long had a need to meet with dance educators working with children and/or families in the area of improvisation. I am particularly interested in the subject of workshop/lesson dramaturgy and improvisation as one of the methods of conducting them. In my work I am inspired, among others, by the practice of the Italian duo Segni Mossi, who combine sign and movement. During our meeting, I will share this experience. I am convinced that sharing practices is one of the good and pleasant forms of learning, so I propose a meeting for professionals, where we learn from each other.

Each participant of the workshop has 25 minutes: 15 minutes to share their own teaching practice and 10 minutes for questions from the group. The format of the time is free: presentation, pair exercises, performance, PechaKucha, lecture and others. Each participant has at their disposal: a room with a ballet floor, TV with laptop connection, sound equipment, coffee, tea, water.

I also invite you to a workshop for families: and period, which will precede our meeting. Based on it, I will talk about the drama of the workshop. I will also share one of my recent bad decisions in experimenting with improv for children.

The meeting is made possible thanks to a residency grant in Segni Mossi awarded to Monika Kiwak by Art Station Foundation by Grażyna Kulczyk.
