Monika Kiwak obtained a masters degree in theatre studies and Polish philology at the Jagiellonian University, Krakow (PL). She is also a graduate of the dance department of Performers House (DK) and a certified contemporary dance instructor. She has taken part in the certified Body Mind Centering Course in Bratislava (CZ), has held an Art Stations Foundation scholarship (Alternative Dance Academy 2013) and has been a Dance Move Cities resident (2013-2014). She is a dancer with Eksperymentalne Studio Tańca Iwony Olszowskiej, Krakow, where she is developing her improvisation and performance art skills. She also works with Krakow’s Teatr Barakah where, in March 2014, she premiered with her solo performance called Star Fish. Apart from working with the numerous techniques offered by contemporary dance, Monika explores other forms of movement and sports in Poland and across Europe, and is passionate about working with children and adults alike.
