Electronic music has been transposed to the virtual sphere through the invention of the sample. The piece uses the performer’s body as a source of sound and thus physicalises the instrument anew. The human being and the living matter of which they are made become unified. The body both experiences and is experienced, becoming a receptor to itself. The need to fully experience pushes the performer towards extreme actions which straddle brutality and tenderness.
