The Festival program includes a very special event: an intensive choreographic workshop (6-9.01) led by Gilles Jobin and La Ribot. To the workshop we have invited dancers from 7 countries: Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estoinia, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
La Ribot will propose a workshop based on questions she has already worked on in her pieces: “We will work during the 3 days of workshop with words, regarding their importance in our movements and how they can modify our environment and behavior. I am interested to think about our position as individuals and as a part of a group”. Gilles Jobin will base his working process on organically organised movement – a method which he first used while working on The Moebius Strip. The method encourages spontanity, at the same time urging the dancer to concentrate on a specific task – while developing his own organic movement he has to remember to adjust it to the surrounding context. In the workshop dancers will employ fragments of Jobin’s newest choreography Black Swan.
The effects of the three-day workshop will be presented to the Festival audience during an open showing which will take place in the Zamek Culture Center’s Grand Hall.
