La Ribot

La Ribot – born in Madrit artist, dancer and choreographer. She has worked in Madrit, London, Ghent, Paris, Geneva. The list of her major works includes choreographies: Socorro! Gloria!, Piezas Distinguidas, Los trancos del avestruz, Mas distinguidas, Panoramix, 40 espontáneos, Laughing Hole, Gustavia (with French choreographer Mathilde Monnier) and videoinstalations: Despliegue, Another pa amb tomàquet, Juanita pelotari, Travelling, Cuarto de oro. In 2004 – 2008 she taught at Haute Ecole d’Art et de Design (HEAD), where, together with a few other pedagagues, she set up a new section Arts Action. La Ribot was nominated for the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award for visual artists. From the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Education she received the National Prize of Dance 2000. La Ribot’s work is organized as a system in which she can make researches, developing and questioning the dance’s limits of time, space and concept, because she works on the common fields of live art, performance and visual arts. Devoted to this work, a two-volume publication titled La Ribot is another creation of this versatile artist.
