The lab offers tools and a framework for developing choreographic concepts and strategies. Participants work with their own interests/projects, going through a process of articulating ideas and the impulses and reasons behind them. The lab offers a concrete method for defining and developing the structure of the work, creative methods, determining project parameters, decision-making strategies, establishing work procedures and choosing different modes of collaboration. The process emphasizes the clarification of concepts into words, the clear articulation of each phase of the process, and the principle of learning from each other. Through the experience of group process sharing, the lab enables and encourages participants to discuss the concepts and methods of others, and thus to redefine and rework their own ideas.

The laboratory format provides space for individual exploration, for knowledge sharing, for self-organization and self-education, and for experimentation and risk-taking. The methodology used in the process supports the practice of group inquiry, interdisciplinarity, and discourse production. The process will also address issues of aesthetics, authorship, ownership, semantics and semiotics and their significance in choreographic practice.
