Dance People 2.0 is an exhibition created with the support of the Art Stations Foundation. It is the second instalment in a project which Jakub Wittchen has been working on since 2010. The project focuses on dancers and choreographers. It is a tale about people, not about dance in the strict sense. Wittchen photographs his characters in places they have chosen: in parks, rooms and in baths, on sofas, under showers and against white backdrops. He records the places and motifs they consider important, as well as incidental situations, to relate the characters’ dreams and projections.

JAKUB WITTCHEN is a photographer fascinated in movement. He has been photographing contemporary dance since 2005. His pictures have been featured in some of the major works about Polish dance, for instance in Anna Królica’s Sztuka do odkrycia. Szkice o polskim tańcu, Witold Mrozek’s Nowy taniec. Rewolucje ciała and in Pokolenie Solo, a collection of interviews by Anna Królica, in addition to numerous magazines and press releases. Jakub collaborates with the Institute of Music and Dance, the Art Stations Foundation programme Old Brewery New Dance and with Teatr Nowy w Poznaniu.
