Agata Maszkiewicz
Don Kiewicz & Sancho Waniec
27.09.2012
Studio Słodownia +3

Kiewicz and Waniec meet at a construction site. In the concrete mixer their physical labour clashes with idealism and utopian visions. Swept away from the wheelbarrow, the fantasies finally end their lives covered with a layer of madness… Using the image of a Polish worker/bad knight, the performance provokes questions about the role of such values as work, solidarity, brotherhood in today’s capitalist democracy.

‘Don Kiewicz & Sancho Waniec’ is a promise of a contemplative performance. It is a piece where nothing happens the way it is expected to happen. It is a dance piece where nobody dances but bodies and objects are put in motion. It is a show that escapes any spectacular representation. It is a piece without a story and with as many Quixotes as public members.
