Jerzy Gurawski, prof.. In the 1950s he settled in Krakow, where he studied architecture, taking an early interest in theatrical space. In 1960 he began collaborating with Jerzy Grotowski, with whom he found understanding for his concept of the performance space as a physically and each time differently arranged relationship between all the participants of a theatrical event. At the “Theatre of 13 Rows” in Opole, and later at the “Laboratory” theater, he collaborated in the realization of all productions between 1960-68; among them such productions as: “Akropolis” (together with Józef Szajna) or “The Constant Prince”. He later became a successful architect, and also drew and painted with watercolors; since the early 1980s he has given lectures and presentations about theatrical space all over the world.
