The author of metal installations, Gego lived for 25 years in Venezuela. Her art, like the local equatorial forests, is a dense thicket of lines, mysterious shadows, cobwebs, and fantastically shaped plants and animals. During the exhibition tour, workshop participants talked about how an engineer can become an artist and what makes sculptures move. Then children created their own mini-jungle: animals made of wire, a thicket of liana, and an aluminium river…
