Paradise. Eden, or the garden of delights (gan ‘edhen).

Behind us, left in memory? A state irretrievably lost? Like childhood, like everything impossible to repeat? A testimony to sin and the fall? A source of hopelessness, nostalgia and despair associated with aging?

Before us, created by imagination? Eden as heaven? A bright future, paradise on earth? The search for order, from which this very movement distances us?

“There are paradises similar to the human body.”
