A performative durational exploration in which Brazilian artist duo QUARTO, using a kilometer long rope, challenges the notion of what a body is capable of. This rope is manipulated, generating a movement vocabulary between the body and rope, through constant motion. The physical exertion, on the verge of the unbearable, gradually peels away our notions of body and object, ego and drama. This work is the first part in the ten yearlong research project ROPE series.
