The first solo by Natalia Draganik was born out of a need to summarize the last six years – the period in which the life of the artist was dominated by dance.
The spectacle gives us an account of what it means to be a dancer in Poland nowadays. It is based on questions about how the condition of Polish dance has changed within a period of several years, about finding a place for oneself as a dance artist between “the avant-garde” and “the commercialized”, between the viewers’ expectations and attempts at discovering one’s own dance identity.
Draganik wants to meet the audience’s expectations, at the same time openly addressing uneasy questions about the role of art in the life of an average viewer and the expectations that people have towards art nowadays.
