About the author:

Cyril Bouyeure (b. 1958), between 2000-2002 worked as an adviser of French foreign minister Hubert Vedrine, and then as the first counselor at the French embassy in Warsaw (2002-2005); fighter for human rights, longtime observer of dissident movements in Middle Europe, and the former Soviet Union, including its parts in Asia.
