Is communicating with words the most efficient way to express our selves? How effective can we be when communicating only with body language?
During the past few decades, technological advancements have increased our ability to communicate with each other at greater speeds and, therefore, with greater regularity. And yet, we still encounter all kinds of difficulties in understanding each other when speaking via telephone and corresponding via letters or email. Is this because we do not have the additional information of body language when communicating in these ways? If that is true, then why, when we are physically present with each other, do we still find ourselves in situations where it is difficult to understand others or to be understood ourselves?
These are the motivating questions behind the performance ‘just say it’ by dance artists, Michael Schumacher as a guide of that collaboration and Iwona Olszowska, Renata Piotrowska, Igor Podsiadly.
