In her project the artist will explore the potential of choreography for speculation, asking how performing arts, which produce events focused on the ‘here and now’, can engage with issues that require the development of a thinking that places current processes in a time beyond the life of an individual, a generation or a species. And how, in the context of the ecological crisis, the uncertain future of the earth, art, and choreography in particular, can participate in the process of developing a reflection on the crisis. The results of the project, which will include theoretical research, the exploration of scientific fields (geology, paleontology, or humanities) and the exploration of ways in which choreography (also practically) addresses these issues, will be made public in the form of freely accessible documentation: portfolio, research, open-source “workshop manual”, project and workshop presentations.
