The spectacle was created [as the author writes] from the multitude of thoughts, desires, flooding my head verboten and a huge surprise that all this can fit into one person, and above all, perhaps, the longing for peace.
The protagonist of Magda Jędra’s solo performance “Parallel” creates the impression of a person lost in her not entirely real world. Something constantly shatters the intricately woven fragile order, which she stubbornly tries to maintain. At first, she persistently performs a learned, studied movement, only to lose the rhythm and fall into a ragged trance. He seems to be compelled to move in several directions at once. It looks as if she was running away from something or chasing something. The whole is spiced up with Matthew Herbert’s powerful, chaotic music, and in a parallel form, complemented by the visuals surrounding the dancer.
