“Bellissimo” is a story about masculinity, about a man trapped in a world of stereotypes, where things are not necessarily as we think they are. The choreographer gave up the dark atmosphere so often accompanying solo performances, his work is colorful, full of twists and turns with an unexpected ending.

29.04.05 During the first edition of the OPOZYCJA Dance Theatre Festival in Sopot, the main prize went to Ryszard Kalinowski for his performances “Bellissimo” and “Towards a Good Silence”. The jury, consisting of: Barbara Sier-Janik, Grzegorz Janikowski, justified their verdict as follows:
“We award the work, the awareness of the performers and the artistic proposals that have proven to us that there is the possibility of creatively combining the opposition between gesture and stillness marked by expression, between music and composing the drama of actions on stage, and between the element of femininity and masculinity, the search for freedom and the acceptance of oneself and one’s condition – MAN and ARTIST.”
