The aim of the debate is to seek for the answers to the most important questions pertaining to city culture. We will be exploring cultural strategy and developmental directions. To the discussion we will invite artists, critics, politicians and, most importantly, city dwellers who, after all, create the city’s identity and should, therefore, have a say when it comes to its development and cultural offer.

The Poznań debate will take place on 21st November 2009 at Old Brewery. It will be the 4th such event in the City DNA cycle organized by the quarterly “Res Publika Nowa” in seven Polish cities – candidates for the European Capital of Culture 2016.

The Poznań debate is organized in co-operation with Art Stations Foundation and the magazine “Czas Kultury”. Next to Poznań, the project includes such cities as Warsaw, Lublin, Łódź, Gdańsk, Szczecin and Toruń. The organizers invite all sorts of associations and organizations interested in our city’s culture to bring in their own questions and voices to the debate.
