The work on the show began with the idea of the quality of motion. The continuous image of the falling ceiling, accompanied artist Anna Piotrowska for a long time – she repeatedly experienced a palpable sensation of the ceiling falling down and crushing the body. With these strange projections came the impressions of destruction and distress – both have shaped the specific atmosphere of burdened physicality characteristic of the show.
Crudity mingles with innocence (without a shade of naivety). Youth discovers cruelty and the fun of doing nothing-funny. Grayness transpires from the movement and characters. There is no specific history, though each character has their own relationship to the surrounding reality. The sum of all these relationships builds up the atmosphere of the “fall(ing) ceil(ing)”.
Being together leads to the destruction of a single individual and the individuality that he/she holds inside, which in silence wishes to tell of its existence. One by one, each of the characters will die – together they must fight for survival.
