Zeena Parkins is a harp virtuoso, composer, multi-instrumentalist and improvisor. She is well-known as a pioneer of the electric harp and an innovator of the acoustic harp, famous for the inventive use of unusual playing techniques, preparations, and layers of digital and analog processing. Zeena has appeared on over 70 CD’s representing a wide variety of genres. She has collaborated with virtually all the leading players of the American underground, such as: Jim O’Rourke, Nels Cline (Wilco), Lee Ranaldo, Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), Pauline Oliveros, Don Byron, John Zorn, Fred Frith, Elliot Sharp, to mention but a few. She became recognized around the world recording and touring with Bjork (Vespertine, World Tour and Family Tree Tour) and Yoko Ono (Blueprint for a Sunrise).
