ALTER Contemporary Dance Theatre was founded in 1985 by choreographer and director Witold Jurewicz, who leads the company until today. Improvised movement is the main basis of the company’s work. The abstraction and symbolism of the stage message, the constant search for new movement possibilities allow the dancers to present their personalities and to intensify their creative abilities. ALTER Dance Theatre does not use a strictly defined technique. It rather tries to form the movement and build its own characteristic language of scenic expression.
