Rivca Rubin helps people live the life they want: artists to realize their vision, understand and develop their own practice; companies and organizations to define their direction, align their ways of working with their values, and create a work culture that makes everyone feel engaged, valued, and motivated to grow. She is the director of Imagine, an organization dedicated to leadership and development issues and mentoring cultural activists, artists, facilitators and programmers. In 2016, Rivca created Uptimism, a global movement advocating for and inspiring transformative thinking by changing everyday language. At the heart of her work is a belief in the need to move away from a life of compulsion towards a life guided by conscious choice.
Rivca works with teams, organizations, and communities across Europe and in South Africa. She is currently moderating the German Academy of Performing Arts Producers, working with Islington Mill Academy in England, leading the Upwording Your Relationships training series for a seedcom organization in Johannesburg, developing a program for a physical theater school in Brno, Czech Republic, and supporting the development of Schloss Bröllin’s ensemble.
From 1985 to 1995, Rivca ran Physical State International and a laboratory for young artists called Kaizen Creative (1997-2002). She also taught at the University of Manchester from 1997 to 2001. Before becoming a coach, she was a producer and choreographer. She has an MA in Applied Behavioral Science and is a licensed trainer in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP); her experience also includes studies in Clean Language, Spiral Dynamics, Systems Thinking, and philosophy.
