Colleen Thomas-Young is a New York-based choreographer whose work has been presented on many international stages (in Hong Kong, Estonia, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil and Russia, a.o.). In New York, she collaborates with prestigious dance centers (Danspace Project, DTW, New York Live Arts, The Miller Theater, Danny K. Playhouse, The Harkness Center at the 92nd Street Y, The Kumble Arts Center). As a dancer, she has worked with renowned choreographers such as Nina Wiener Dance Company, Donald Byrd/The Group, Bebe Miller Dance Company, and Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. Since 2003, she has led her own company, Colleen Thomas Dance, and also co-directs and choreographs for Bill Young/Colleen Thomas & Co. She also works as curator of a major contemporary New York project in the LIT series (loft into theater) at 100 Grand, which supports innovative and experimental work by both young and established artists. Parallel to her artistic career, Colleen Thomas-Young is a professor of dance at the prestigious Barnard College of Columbia University.
