A hallmark of the Art Stations Foundation’s activities has been a consistent program dedicated to the public – introducing the viewer to the world of contemporary art, both in terms of visual arts and choreography.
Dance.doc was a permanent part of the STARY BROWAR NOWY DANCE program. The long experience of promoting the art of dance has shown how great is the need to discuss the art of dance, but also how great is the hunger for concrete knowledge about dance as the youngest field of art, developing, however, within a rich historical and cultural context.
As part of the Dance.doc program, we presented the audience with documentary materials about dance and registrations of cult performances, and invited specialists and practitioners whose lectures introduced the audience to the issues of contemporary choreography and helped them watch the performances presented in Studio Słodownia +3 more consciously.
Meetings on both the past of dance and its contemporary issues, as well as practical workshop demonstrations allowed us not only to broaden our knowledge of the art of dance, its contexts and ways of creation, but also to inspire discussions on the latest problems and potential directions of development of contemporary choreography.
